Breaking News: Former Doak Walker Award Winner Arrested on DUI Charges
Oklahoma State running back and Doak Walker Award winner Ollie Gordon II was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of DUI, according to police.
A state trooper in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, observed Gordon swerving in his black 2024 Cadillac, which was traveling at 82 miles per hour in a 65 mph zone, as detailed in a probable cause affidavit.
Upon stopping the vehicle, the trooper detected the smell of alcohol and discovered half-full bottles of vodka and tequila inside, the affidavit states.
Gordon, 20, was arrested and recorded breath alcohol content levels of 0.11 and 0.10 at the Cleveland County jail.
The Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Gordon posted bond and was released on Sunday. It is unclear whether he has retained legal counsel.
Last season, Gordon rushed for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns, earning the Doak Walker Award for the nation’s best running back. He also finished seventh in Heisman voting and was named a first-team Associated Press All-American.
