Over the past weekend, Auburn’s football program expanded its recruiting efforts for the class of 2025 by securing the commitment of 3-star offensive lineman Jacobe Ward, hailing from Savannah, Georgia where he currently plays at Benedictine Military School, the same institution that produced current Auburn quarterback Holden Geriner.
Ward’s journey to Auburn began with his initial visit to the university in March, which laid the foundation for his growing interest in the Tigers. Despite subsequent visits to other prominent football programs such as South Carolina, LSU, and Tennessee, Auburn maintained a leading position in Ward’s considerations. “The relationships I’ve built with Coach Thornton, Coach Freeze, and Coach Payton (Cox) were a significant factor,” Ward revealed to Auburn Live. “They’ve shown genuine interest in me every day, and their enthusiasm to welcome me into their program really impressed me.”
Meanwhile, Auburn’s Athletic Director, John Cohen, has spearheaded initiatives to enhance the gameday experience at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Recently approved by the Board of Trustees, a state-of-the-art video board is slated for installation in the north end zone ahead of the 2025 season. However, Cohen’s vision extends beyond technological upgrades; he aims to introduce additional premium opportunities aimed at augmenting fan engagement and satisfaction.
“Increasing premium opportunities at Jordan-Hare is a priority due to the overwhelming demand we’ve experienced,” Cohen explained to Auburn Rivals. “Our new addition, the Locker Room Club, sold out within two weeks of its launch, underscoring the passion and support of our fanbase and reflecting the positive momentum of our football program.”
