4-star DB target Ladarian Clardy adds Noles in the top schools list.

Florida State football has already secured one promising defensive back recruit for their 2025 class in Gregory “Zae” Thomas, a four-star cornerback from American Heritage High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Looking ahead, the coaching staff has set their sights on several high-profile targets to bolster their secondary. Notable prospects on their radar include four-star recruits Ben Hanks Jr., Jaboree Antoine, Onis Konanbanny, Jett White, Jordan Young, Bryce Fitzgerald, and three-star Max Redmon.

One standout recruit drawing significant attention is four-star safety Ladarian Clardy from Escambia High School in Pensacola, Florida. Clardy recently unveiled his top ten schools list, featuring Florida State prominently alongside Ole Miss, Mississippi State, UCF, Miami, Michigan, Georgia, Colorado, and Washington.

Clardy has already completed official visits to UCF, Florida State, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss, with a scheduled visit to Miami on July 27th. The Seminoles are optimistic after receiving a crystal ball prediction in their favor, though Ole Miss also holds predictions. Clardy’s recruitment continues to evolve, with recent visits to Mississippi State and Ole Miss influencing the landscape.

Competitively, Ole Miss has secured commitments from four-star safety Cortez Thomas and has four-star safety Keon Young in their fold. Mississippi State boasts commitments from three-star safeties Lo’Javion Johnson and Sekou Smith Jr. Meanwhile, UCF features four-star safeties Tony Williams and Kendarius Reddick in their recruiting class.

Miami, a notable contender, remains in pursuit of Clardy, lacking a committed safety prospect in their current class. Clardy’s upcoming visit to Coral Gables adds another layer of intrigue to his recruitment.

For Florida State, securing Clardy’s commitment before his Miami visit becomes crucial as they aim to strengthen their defensive backfield for the future.
