Attendees of the SEC Media Day, including Shekai Mills-Knight, discuss Auburn football.
The SEC Media Days are set to take place next week in Dallas, Texas, a location chosen to welcome Texas and Oklahoma into the conference. From July 15-18, all 16 SEC head coaches, along with three player representatives from each team, will meet with the media to discuss the upcoming 2024 season.
Last year, Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze was accompanied by players Luke Deal (tight end), Elijah McAllister (linebacker), and Kam Stutts (offensive lineman). This year, the player representatives will be Payton Thorne (QB), Eugene Asante (linebacker), and Keldric Faulk (defensive end).
While players chosen for media days are typically upperclassmen with significant leadership roles, it’s notable that sophomore Keldric Faulk was selected. The Tigers are scheduled to speak in Dallas on Thursday, July 18.
4-star running back Shekai Mills-Knight, a top recruit for the 2025 class, recently named Auburn as a finalist alongside Miami, Michigan, Alabama, Missouri, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Ole Miss. After visiting the Plains in early June, he plans to return for Auburn’s Big Cat Weekend recruiting event at the end of the month.
Ranked as the #28 running back in the 2025 class, Mills-Knight has praised Auburn’s consistency in his recruitment. “They’ve been consistent, real consistent, I’ll say that,” Mills-Knight told Auburn Rivals. “Grant, that’s my guy, Coach Nix, that’s my guy. And he calls the plays, too, so I know that if I go there, he’ll put us in a good position to shine and thrive. When I come up on campus, they show me love consistently.”
