Chicago Bulls Complete Signing of Former NBA 10th Overall Selection.

Jalen Smith, who recently completed his third season with the Indiana Pacers, concluded the year averaging 9.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assist per game. He shot 59.2% from the field and 42.4% from three-point range across 61 games.

On Monday, Smith officially joined the Chicago Bulls.

According to Bulls.com, the team confirmed the signing of forward/center Jalen Smith today. Specific terms of the agreement were not disclosed per team policy.

Smith was selected as the 10th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft from Maryland.

In addition to his time with the Pacers, he has played for the Phoenix Suns across four seasons.

Throughout his career, he holds averages of 8.5 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, shooting 51.7% from the field and 33.5% from three-point range over 207 regular-season games.

He has also competed in 13 NBA playoff games and was part of the Suns’ journey to the 2021 NBA Finals.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski initially broke the news about Smith’s contract.

According to Wojnarowski on July 1st, free agent center Jalen Smith has agreed to a three-year, $27 million deal with the Chicago Bulls. Sources informed ESPN that Smith’s agents at @KlutchSports finalized the agreement with the Bulls’ front office overnight.

The Bulls finished the season as the ninth seed in the Eastern Conference, posting a record of 39-43. They defeated Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks in their initial play-in tournament matchup but were subsequently eliminated by the Miami Heat in the following game.
