Phoenix Mercury Player Responds Humorously to Season Grade Question
Phoenix Mercury guard Natasha Cloud kept things lighthearted in a postgame interview after her team’s 83-72 loss to the Connecticut Sun at Footprint Center on Monday. Cloud, who recorded 18 points and 10 assists, was asked to grade her team’s performance through 19 regular-season games.
“I wasn’t really a school person, so I don’t know about grades,” Cloud said. “I got ‘E’ for ‘eligible’ when I was in school.” Following an 88-82 loss to the Indiana Fever over the weekend, the Mercury were shorthanded against the Sun, with veteran guards Diana Taurasi and Rebecca Allen out due to injuries.
Funny moment from Natasha Cloud when asked what grade she would give her Phoenix Mercury through 19 games.

Despite going 3-of-17 from beyond the arc, the Mercury made a late surge in the fourth quarter, led by Cloud in a 12-3 run. However, their comeback fell short, resulting in their 10th loss of the season at home.
Brittany Griner and Kahleah Copper were the team’s top scorers, each with 21 points. After a challenging stretch with three games in four days, Phoenix (9-10) will face the Dallas Wings on the road on Wednesday.
