Ruben Ramos Jr.LA Galaxy forward Ruben Ramos Jr. has earned a spot on the 21-man roster for the U.S. U-20 Men’s Youth National Team, which will compete in the 2024 Concacaf Under-20 Championship. The tournament will be held in Celaya and Irapuato, Mexico, from July 18 to August 4.
Ramos Jr., 17, has been a standout performer for Ventura County FC in the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Regular Season, contributing seven goal involvements (five goals, two assists) in 14 starts. His promising talent was highlighted when he made his debut for the Galaxy as a second-half substitute against Sporting Kansas City on June 15, 2024, becoming the fourth-youngest player in team history to do so.
The U.S. Under-20 Men’s Youth National Team will be vying for one of four spots at the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile. They aim to secure their fourth consecutive Concacaf title, following their triumphs in 2017, 2018, and 2022.
As the tournament’s top seed, the U.S. has been placed in Group A. They will kick off their campaign against Jamaica on Friday, July 19 at 7:06 p.m. PT, face Cuba on Monday, July 22 at 7:06 p.m. PT, and conclude the group stage against Costa Rica on Thursday, July 25 at 7:06 p.m. PT.
