Breaking News: Ipswich Town Enhances Defense with Hull City Signing
The 23-year-old has signed a five-year contract with Ipswich Town. He will join his new teammates right away as they head to Austria for a pre-season camp this weekend.
Greaves, who developed through Hull City’s youth ranks, spent a loan period at Cheltenham Town during the 2019/20 season. He made his league debut for Hull in October 2020 and has since played over 150 league matches for the club.
His strong performances last season led to his inclusion in the Sky Bet Championship Team of the Season and earned him Hull’s Player of the Year award.
“I’m thrilled to have signed,” Greaves stated.
“From the moment I learned of the interest, I was eager to finalize the move. I’ve had multiple discussions with Kieran about tactics, playing style, and off-field life, and everything has been spot on. I’m looking forward to advancing to the Premier League and can’t wait to get started.”
Ipswich Town Manager Kieran McKenna also shared his enthusiasm about the new addition.
“Jacob is a highly skilled, technical, and athletic left-sided defender who has excelled in the Championship. He’s ready to make the leap to the Premier League, and we believe this is the ideal setting for him to thrive. He will add significant value to our team and the culture we’ve established here.”
