IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa redshirt junior Raider Tello has reached an agreement with the Philadelphia Phillies.
Hailing from El Monte, California, Tello led the team with a .357 batting average in 54 games this season. He accumulated 79 hits, 19 doubles, four triples, and seven home runs, driving in 60 RBIs and scoring 51 runs.
Over his two seasons with Iowa, Tello appeared in 113 games, maintaining a .335 batting average. He recorded 155 hits, scored 98 runs, hit 33 doubles, and 11 home runs, with 110 RBIs and a .963 fielding percentage on 242 chances.
The Hawkeyes concluded the 2024 season with a 31-23 overall record, finishing fourth in the Big Ten regular season standings and making their ninth consecutive Big Ten Tournament appearance.
