“Breaking News: 4-Star Cornerback Jaboree Antoine Sparks Rivalry, Snubs All but LSU in Final Decision”
For the second time this week, LSU and Miami are the finalists for a highly sought-after cornerback. Four-star CB Jaboree Antoine informed Chad Simmons of On3 that he has narrowed his decision to LSU and Miami ahead of his Saturday commitment announcement.
Earlier this week, LSU triumphed over Miami and Oregon to secure five-star CB D.J. Pickett. Antoine is set to announce his decision on Saturday at 5 PM Eastern Time. On3 National Recruiting Writer and Assistant Managing Editor Keegan Pope reported on Friday that Miami is currently favored to land Antoine.
The On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine gives Miami a 63.9 percent chance of securing Antoine’s commitment, with LSU at 33.4 percent. The sole 247Sports crystal ball prediction for Antoine favors LSU, made the day after he de-committed from the Tigers. Canes Insight reported that “the Canes continue to feel confident” in their recruitment of Antoine.
Before Pickett’s commitment on Wednesday, most analysts projected him to choose Oregon, with Miami as a secondary option. His decision to commit to LSU surprised many. Antoine’s choice seems more evenly split between LSU and Miami.
Simmons and Florida State recruiting insider Michael Langston have both predicted Miami in the RPM for Antoine ahead of his Saturday commitment, according to Pope. On3 ranks Antoine as the 87th overall prospect, ninth cornerback, and second player in Louisiana. In the 247Sports composite rankings, Antoine is the 71st overall prospect, eighth cornerback, and second player in Louisiana. Antoine, standing at 6’1″ and 170 pounds, has the size that Miami’s coaching staff desires. Miami already has commitments from four-star prospect Chris Ewald and three-star Timothy Merritt at cornerback.
Miami currently holds the ninth-ranked recruiting class in the 247Sports rankings and 11th in the On3 rankings. A commitment from Antoine would boost Miami to eighth in the 247Sports composite rankings, surpassing Oklahoma. Antoine would be the second-highest-ranked 2025 Miami commit, behind only safety Hylton Stubbs.
