Breaking News: “LSU Nabs Third Five-Star for 2025: Elite WR Elevates Top Recruiting Class”

Days after securing five-star cornerback DJ Pickett, LSU and head coach Brian Kelly have also landed the commitment of five-star receiver Derek Meadows from Las Vegas Bishop Gorman.

The 6-5, 200-pound Meadows had long been expected to commit to Notre Dame, but his official visit to LSU changed his mind.

The Tigers rolled out the red carpet for him and ultimately convinced him to choose LSU. Although he was on the verge of committing last weekend on July 13, he decided to take an extra week to ensure his decision was final. Now, he’s thrilled with his choice to join LSU.

“From Day 1, those coaches believed in me, and coach Hankton is an outstanding coach who I know will get the best out of me,” Meadows shared with 247Sports. “It’s all about development with him, and I’m confident he’ll coach me up as well as anyone.

He has faith in my abilities, and I trust him completely. The official visit was crucial; the coaches treated everyone like family, and that’s the environment I want to be part of. Playing in the SEC means a lot to me, and I’m committed to working hard and competing against the best.”
