Report: Browns Bolster O-Line with Signing of Former Panthers Offensive Tackle

Chim Okorafor #72 of the Michigan Panthers

The Cleveland Browns have added depth to their offensive line by signing veteran offensive tackle Chim Okorafor. The 6’5.5″, 315-pound right tackle was signed after an impressive private workout in June, bringing quality experience to the Browns’ 90-man roster as they head into training camp this week.

Okorafor recently completed his UFL season with the Michigan Panthers, where he made a significant impact on the offensive line. His journey began at Benedictine College in Kansas, where he was a standout player and an NAIA All-American during his senior year.

After his college career, Okorafor received an invitation to the Philadelphia Eagles’ rookie minicamp in 2023. Despite not making the team, he quickly found his footing in the UFL, being drafted in the 9th round by the Michigan Panthers. Throughout the 2023/2024 season, he started multiple games and proved to be a valuable asset to the Panthers’ offensive line unit.

Although Okorafor has experience at both offensive guard and tackle, it appears he will primarily focus on the tackle position with the Browns. His versatility and experience make him a significant addition to Cleveland’s offensive line as they prepare for the upcoming season.

With training camp just around the corner, Okorafor’s presence is expected to provide the Browns with much-needed depth and competition on the offensive line, ensuring they have the necessary protection for their quarterbacks and creating opportunities for their running game.
