AUBURN, Alabama—Despite being currently committed to Georgia Tech, Southwest DeKalb (Decatur) wide receiver Sam Turner remains a high-priority recruit for Auburn. On Saturday, Turner revisited the Plains to check out the Tigers and meet with coach Marcus Davis.
During his visit, he spent time with the coaching staff as well as several of Auburn’s current commitments. Turner mentioned that Auburn is making a strong push for his commitment as he approaches his final decision before his season opener on August 8.
Turner highlighted the unique aspects of Auburn that have impressed him. “It’s the people, the culture, and the atmosphere,” he said. “The culture here is just different. You can sense it as soon as you walk in—from the coaching staff to the players, it’s different.”
Turner has been recruited by Marcus Davis, who serves as an assistant coach for the Tigers. Turner expressed his admiration for Davis, both in terms of his coaching abilities and his demeanor off the field. He noted that Davis brings a lot to the table and handles himself well in various situations, making a positive impression on Turner.
As Turner continues to weigh his options, Auburn’s strong push and unique culture could play a significant role in his final decision. The Tigers are clearly committed to securing Turner as a key addition to their roster, and the next few weeks will be crucial in determining where he will ultimately commit.
