Auburn Dominates Recruitment, Snags 4-Star Safety Anquon Fegans Over Clemson, UGA, and LSU
Anquon Fegans, a four-star safety from Thompson High School in Alabaster, has announced his commitment to Auburn.
Fegans chose Auburn over Clemson, Georgia, and LSU during a commitment ceremony in Birmingham on Monday evening, marking Hugh Freeze and the Tigers’ second commitment of the day and seventh in three days.

“It’s just what Coach Freeze is building. Just how special that place can be.”The Tigers are gaining a top-10 talent with Fegans, who is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 9 safety in the nation and the ninth-ranked prospect in Alabama for the class of 2025.
Auburn first extended an offer to Fegans shortly after Freeze took over the program. The Tigers’ pursuit intensified after hiring Charles Kelly, who had previously recruited Fegans’ older brother, Tre’Quon Fegans, to Alabama. Auburn further strengthened its case by bringing in another of his older brothers, Antwon Fegans Jr., who transferred to Auburn in May.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Anquon Fegans has been instrumental in leading Thompson to three 7A state titles. In his freshman year, he recorded 50 tackles, two tackles for loss, and two interceptions. During his sophomore season in 2022, he amassed 67 tackles and nine interceptions, three of which were returned for touchdowns.
“He’s real instinctual,” Thompson head coach Mark Freeman told AL.com in June. “He’s got street smarts. He can bait a quarterback into making throws he shouldn’t make. Some of that is God-given. We call it street knowledge … baiting quarterbacks into a throw and you are there to make a pick or make a big hit.”
Entering his senior year, Anquon Fegans is coming off a 2023 season where he tallied 59 total tackles, seven interceptions, and a pick six.
With Fegans’ commitment on Monday, Auburn’s 2025 recruiting class now has 21 commits and rises to No. 5 in the nation.
