Donavon Greene injured his knee on the first day of fall practice last year, which cut his 2023 season short before it began. Despite the setback, he showed no signs of hesitation as he rejoined the field for this year’s fall practice.
Greene quickly made an impact, catching several passes from quarterback Michael Kern during the Demon Deacons’ initial 11-on-11 drill. This marked his first full practice since missing last season and spring camp due to rehabilitation. Greene expressed confidence in his recovery, stating, “It feels pretty good, it feels the best it ever has. I’m ready to go.”
Having missed the entire 2021 season with a torn ACL, Greene has had limited playing time over five seasons with Wake Forest but has demonstrated significant talent when healthy. His return is expected to be crucial for the team as they aim to recover from their first season without a bowl game since 2015. Head coach Dave Clawson noted the importance of keeping Greene healthy, emphasizing his high potential and the positive impact his presence brings.
