Darrion Smith has officially committed to joining the Tennessee Volunteers.
The Tennessee Volunteers have been making impressive strides on the recruiting front, adding another key player to their 2025 class. Darrion Smith recently announced his commitment to the Volunteers, choosing Tennessee over other contenders such as Ohio State and Maryland.
Rated as a three-star prospect, Smith is ranked as the 650th-best player nationally, the 69th-best defensive lineman, and the 18th-best player in Maryland. He made several visits to Tennessee this offseason before making his decision official.
With Smith’s commitment, the Volunteers now have 21 total commits, bolstering their recruiting efforts as they continue to climb the rankings this summer. Head Coach Josh Heupel and his staff have focused on bringing in a strong recruiting class this cycle, and Smith’s addition marks the third defensive lineman to join the group. The Volunteers are nearing the end of this recruiting cycle, with the 2024 college football season approaching, and still have more high-profile targets on their radar, including offensive lineman David Sanders.
