Breaking News: Auburn Tigers’ Trade Stuns: Shocking Motive Revealed

The Miami football team is in the running for three-star running back Shekai Mills-Knight, who will announce his commitment on August 17. Mills-Knight has narrowed his choices to Alabama, Auburn, Miami, Mississippi, and Tennessee. According to On3, all five finalists hosted him for official visits in June.

Mississippi is the clear frontrunner for Mills-Knight’s commitment, with the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine giving them a 94.7 percent chance. Additionally, David Johnson of Inside the Rebels has logged the only 247Sports crystal ball prediction for Mills-Knight in favor of Mississippi.

Mills-Knight visited Miami the weekend of May 31, Alabama the weekend of June 7, Auburn on June 10, Tennessee on June 14, and Mississippi on June 21. Mississippi also hosted him for a total of seven visits, including unofficial ones.

In contrast, Alabama, Auburn, and Tennessee each had Mills-Knight on campus twice, including the official visit. Earlier this year, Mills-Knight also visited Florida, Michigan, and Penn State unofficially, as reported by On3. His commitment announcement comes just before he starts his senior season at the Baylor School in Chattanooga.

Ranked as the 252nd overall prospect, the 17th running back, and the sixth player in Tennessee in the 2025 247Sports composite rankings, Mills-Knight has indicated that he has already made his decision. He emphasized that his choice will be based on which program offers the best development for his running back skills, a solid education, and a chance at winning a national championship. Currently, Alabama is fifth in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll, Mississippi is sixth, Tennessee is 15th, Miami is 19th, and Auburn received two points.

Baylor's Shekai Mills-Knight (1) celebrates his touchdown during the TSSAA BlueCross Bowl Division II-AAA championship game at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Thursday, Nov 30, 2023.

All except Auburn are positioned to contend for the College Football Playoff in 2024. The Miami roster includes running backs with eligibility extending beyond this season, making it challenging for incoming recruits to secure immediate playing time in 2025 and possibly 2026.
