Adding to the woes, Wolverines QB Davis Warren had a tough time generating offense, finishing the game with 204 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Alex Orji, expected to step up after the departure of J.J. McCarthy to the NFL, had a disappointing performance with just two carries for negative-one yards.
This season marks a significant decline in quarterback performance for Michigan, which had J.J. McCarthy, a top NFL draft pick, last year.
Moore and the Michigan leadership are facing criticism for not securing a high-profile quarterback from the transfer portal, missing out on names like Dillon Gabriel, Dante Moore, and Will Howard. Fans are questioning the decision-making, with some wondering why the Wolverines didn’t pursue a QB transfer more aggressively.
