The Brooklyn Nets have made a move to bolster their training camp roster,  guard Tyson Etienne to an Exhibit 10 deal, according to a report by Evan Barnes of Newsday. This signing gives Etienne a chance to prove his worth during training camp, with the potential to earn a spot on Brooklyn’s G League affiliate, the Long Island Nets.

Etienne’s G League rights were recently acquired by the Long Island Nets from the College Park Skyhawks, the Atlanta Hawks’ affiliate, in a transaction that opens the door for Brooklyn to sign him. In his 51 regular-season games with the Skyhawks from 2022 to 2024, Etienne posted solid numbers, averaging 7.6 points per game on respectable shooting splits (.444/.356/.722), while also contributing 3.5 assists, 2.6 rebounds, and 0.7 steals per night.

Though he went undrafted out of Wichita State in 2022, Etienne’s basketball pedigree is impressive. He is the nephew of former NBA star Marcus Camby and cousin of veteran center DeAndre Jordan. His family ties, combined with his strong work ethic, make him an intriguing addition to the Nets’ training camp roster.

Exhibit 10 contracts, which Etienne has reportedly signed, are non-guaranteed deals that provide financial incentives for players to stick with a team’s G League affiliate. If waived by the Nets and signed by the Long Island Nets, Etienne could earn up to $77,500 in bonuses if he stays with the affiliate for at least 60 days.

Brooklyn still has a few roster spots left to fill as they prepare for the upcoming season, and Etienne will be looking to make the most of his opportunity to impress the coaching staff in the coming weeks.
