LSU basketball head coach Matt McMahon secured all three commitments for his sixth-ranked 2025 recruiting class by Wednesday night, marking a successful National Early Signing Day.
The Tigers added three standout prospects, starting with Mazi Mosley, a 6-foot-5, 165-pound shooting guard from Montverde Academy in Orlando, Florida. Ranked as the No. 11 shooting guard nationally and No. 59 overall by 247Sports, Mosley is also ranked No. 13 in California. He chose LSU over offers from top programs like UCLA, Kansas, Michigan, and Arizona State after visiting Baton Rouge in late September. McMahon praised Mosley’s athleticism, three-point shooting, and versatility, noting his ability to play multiple perimeter positions.
Next, McMahon secured Matt Gilhool, a 6-foot-10, 205-pound four-star center from William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia. The No. 97 overall prospect and top-ranked player in Pennsylvania committed to LSU in September after considering offers from schools like Georgia, Maryland, and Miami. McMahon highlighted Gilhool’s skill set, including his finishing ability, three-point shooting, and potential for strong rebounding and rim protection.
Finally, McMahon capped the day with the signing of Jalen Reece, a 6-foot, 175-pound point guard from Oak Ridge High in Orlando. Ranked the No. 10 point guard and No. 67 overall by 247Sports, Reece is known for his elite passing, court vision, and scoring ability. He chose LSU over offers from Alabama, Ohio State, and Virginia, and McMahon praised his competitiveness and intelligence on both ends of the floor.
With these signings, LSU’s 2025 recruiting class is ranked No. 6 by 247Sports and No. 4 by Rivals, setting the stage for a promising future under McMahon.
