Ohio State football has received a much-needed boost on Thanksgiving Day, as four-star tight end Corbyn Fordham has officially committed to the Buckeyes. Fordham, a 6-foot-3, 215-pound prospect from The Bolles School in Jacksonville, Florida, is the third commitment for Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class. He joins a group that already includes five-star wide receiver Chris Henry Jr. and four-star wideout Jaeden Ricketts, who committed nearly two weeks ago.

Fordham’s pledge is significant not only because of his talent, but also because it marks the second consecutive year that Ohio State has received a Thanksgiving commitment. Last year, four-star linebacker Gabe VanSickle gave his verbal commitment to the Buckeyes on Turkey Day, making it a somewhat of a tradition for head coach Ryan Day to pick up big-time commitments on this holiday.

A Dynamic Tight End Prospect

Rated as the No. 323 overall prospect and No. 15 tight end in the class, Fordham is a promising addition to Ohio State’s future roster. His combination of size, athleticism, and versatility is exactly what the Buckeyes have been targeting at the tight end position. While it’s still early in his recruitment cycle, Fordham’s upside as a two-way threat — capable of being both a dominant blocker and a reliable receiving option — has made him an intriguing target for Ohio State’s staff.

Fordham is coming off an impressive junior season where he displayed strong blocking ability and solid hands as a pass catcher. He will likely fit well into Ohio State’s system, which has seen a rise in using the tight end in both traditional and creative ways under Ryan Day‘s offense.

Ohio State’s Growing 2026 Class

Fordham’s commitment is the third overall for the Buckeyes in the 2026 class, and, like the others, it is focused on building an offense that will continue to thrive for years to come. Fordham, Henry Jr., and Ricketts are all on the offensive side of the ball, which speaks to Ohio State’s priority of stocking up on playmakers to ensure their high-powered attack remains at the top of college football.

As the No. 1 ranked program in recruiting under Ryan Day, Ohio State is continuing to reel in top-tier talent for future seasons. The addition of Fordham only solidifies the Buckeyes’ already strong reputation for developing dynamic, multi-dimensional players.

What’s Next for Ohio State?

As Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class takes shape, the Buckeyes are expected to remain in the hunt for several other high-profile targets, especially on the defensive side of the ball. However, for now, the offensive firepower being assembled by the Buckeyes is setting the stage for what could be an explosive future.

For Fordham, this commitment to Ohio State represents the next step in his journey toward becoming a key contributor in a program that has a long-standing tradition of success. As the No. 1 ranked program in recruiting under Ryan Day, Ohio State is continuing to reel in top-tier talent for future seasons. The addition of Fordham only solidifies the Buckeyes’ already strong reputation for developing dynamic, multi-dimensional players.

As Ohio State football gears up for a crucial stretch of the current season, including their annual showdown with Michigan, the 2026 class continues to look bright. Stay tuned to Cleveland.com for the latest updates on Fordham’s commitment and the future of Ohio State’s recruiting class.
