"Where Every Play Tells a Story"
On Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers added an All-Star outfielder to their roster through free agency—though it may not have been the one many fans were hoping for.
The Dodgers reached an agreement with outfielder Michael Conforto, according to MLB Network’s Mark Feinsand. The deal is reportedly worth $17 million for one year.
Conforto, who signed a one-year, $17 million contract, had been on the radar as one of the few remaining options after the Dodgers were involved in the Juan Soto sweepstakes. However, Soto ultimately chose to sign with the Mets, prompting the Dodgers to move in a different direction. Additionally, the Dodgers still have their own free agent outfielder to consider.
While Conforto may not be at the same level as Soto or even Teoscar Hernandez at this stage of his career, the 31-year-old brings valuable experience to a team that just won the World Series.
In 2024 with the San Francisco Giants, Conforto posted a .237 batting average, 20 home runs, 66 RBIs, and an OPS of .759 in 130 games. His best years came with the New York Mets from 2015 to 2021, where he batted .255 with 132 home runs and an OPS of .824 over seven seasons.
