It was always a long shot that the USC Trojans would be able to keep all of their wide receivers from entering the transfer portal. After Kyron Hudson entered earlier this week, the team has now faced an even bigger blow.
Reports indicate that former 5-star wide receiver Duce Robinson plans to enter the transfer portal.
Robinson, a standout in the 2023 recruiting class, had a strong 2024 season, finishing with 23 receptions, 396 yards, and 5 touchdowns. Throughout the season, he had moments as the featured receiver, such as his 4 catches for 90 yards and 1 touchdown against Nebraska, but also had games where he was scarcely involved, like his 0-catch performance against Rutgers.
Although conversations after the Notre Dame game suggested Robinson would likely return to USC, that outlook has since changed. The talented 6’6″, 220-pound receiver will certainly attract attention in the transfer portal, with potential destinations including Arizona State, where he was highly recruited by current head coach Kenny Dillingham when he was at Oregon.
With Robinson’s departure, the Trojans’ “Big 4” from the 2023 recruiting class now stands at Zacharia Branch, Makai Lemon, and Ja’Kobi Lane. The question remains whether any other players from this class will also enter the portal.
