Oregon football head coach Dan Lanning revealed on The Zach Gelb Show last week that he is still considering a future as an NFL head coach.
With three NFL head coaching positions currently vacant, Gelb asked Lanning if coaching at the professional level was something he had ever thought about. In response, Lanning admitted, “It used to be a goal of mine. At this point, everybody can realize that I’m not going anywhere.”
He emphasized that he is committed to Oregon and has a lot of unfinished business, including a College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup against Ohio State at the Rose Bowl on January 1, 2025. While Lanning enjoys coaching the Ducks, the possibility of an NFL opportunity still remains a future consideration for him.
