Inter Miami Signs Experienced Forward Fafà Picault as 2025 Campaign Heats Up

Inter Miami Signs Forward Fafà Picault: A Boost to Their 2025 Attack

Inter Miami CF has made a significant addition to their attacking ranks by signing forward Fafà Picault, the club announced on Tuesday. The 33-year-old Haitian international joins the Herons on a contract that runs through 2025, with an option for 2026. Picault arrives as a free agent after an impressive 2024 season with Vancouver Whitecaps FC, where he finished as the team’s third-leading scorer with 9 goals and 5 assists in 29 matches.

The signing of Picault represents a key move for Miami as they look to build on their record-setting 2024 campaign and push for success in multiple competitions in 2025. Club president of football operations, Raúl Sanllehí, expressed enthusiasm about the addition, citing Picault’s pace, skill, and extensive MLS experience as crucial qualities that will elevate the team’s attacking options.

“We’re excited to welcome Fafà to Inter Miami CF,” Sanllehí said in the club’s official statement. “We believe that his pace, skill, and proven MLS track record can bring valuable quality and experience to our front lines. We’re looking forward to having him with us to enhance our attacking options as we aim for success across multiple competitions in 2025.”

A Proven MLS Threat

Picault’s journey in Major League Soccer has seen him develop into a proven attacking threat, with 56 goals and 28 assists across 224 matches played for several MLS clubs. Since his return to the U.S. in 2017 from German side FC St. Pauli, Picault has played for FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo FC, Nashville SC, Philadelphia Union, and most recently Vancouver. His track record in the league speaks to his consistency and ability to contribute across multiple teams.

Internationally, Picault has made his mark with the Haitian national team, scoring once in 14 appearances since debuting during the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup. He also briefly represented the United States in two friendlies before switching allegiance to Haiti.

“I’m deeply honored to join an ambitious club like Inter Miami CF,” Picault said in his first comments as a Heron. “Representing this badge and playing for the incredible fan base this organization has built locally, nationally, and internationally is a dream come true. I’m eager to meet my teammates and work together toward a historic 2025 campaign.”

For Picault, the move to Inter Miami is more than just a professional opportunity—it’s a return to a place he calls home. “Returning to South Florida – a place I proudly call home – gives me the chance to be closer to my family and childhood friends while bringing excitement to this passionate fútbol community,” he added. “This opportunity is truly special, and I’m eager to make history with this team.”

Looking Ahead to 2025

Picault’s arrival is part of Inter Miami’s efforts to reinforce their squad ahead of what promises to be an exciting 2025 season. After a remarkable 2024 campaign that saw the Herons set a record for the most points earned in a season with 74, they fell short in the Audi 2024 MLS Cup Playoffs, exiting in the first round to Eastern Conference No. 9 seed Atlanta United.

With head coach Javier Mascherano at the helm, Inter Miami is now looking to build on their league success and make a deeper playoff run in 2025. Their season begins with a crucial match in the Concacaf Champions Cup on February 18 against Sporting Kansas City, followed by their MLS opener against New York City FC on February 22.

For Miami, bolstering their attack with a dynamic player like Picault could be the catalyst they need to make another push toward silverware in 2025. With his pace, experience, and hunger for success, Picault seems ready to play a key role in what is shaping up to be a historic season for the Herons.
