The Miami Heat have never been hesitant to involve themselves in trade rumors related to All-Star players.

In recent seasons, names like Damian Lillard, Bradley Beal, and Donovan Mitchell have all been linked to the Heat, and they all have one thing in common: they’re guards. Miami’s front office seems to be keeping up with this trend, as the Heat are now emerging as a top contender for Sacramento Kings guard De’Aaron Fox.
Though Fox hasn’t formally requested a trade from the Kings yet, rumors have been intensifying ever since coach Mike Brown‘s departure. An update from The Athletic’s Sam Amick and Anthony Slater revealed that the Heat, along with the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Lakers, are among the top teams often mentioned as potential destinations for the All-Star guard.
Fox, the $163 million guard, declined a contract extension with Sacramento last offseason. Many believe this decision was made to signal his primary focus: winning a championship. A trio of Fox, Tyler Herro, and Bam Adebayo could certainly form a strong contender for a title if paired with the right supporting cast.
