Since Colorado’s loss to Kansas in late November, both quarterback Shedeur Sanders and head coach Deion Sanders have faced a rough stretch. In the six weeks following, they were defeated by BYU in the Alamo Bowl, which could be the last time the father-son duo works together as player and coach.
During that game, Shedeur wore custom cleats inspired by the New York Giants, who were holding the No. 1 overall pick for the 2025 NFL Draft at the time. However, after the Giants’ late-season wins, they dropped to the third spot, while the Las Vegas Raiders also slid down in the rankings. As it stands, neither team will pick in the top two. Instead, the Tennessee Titans and Cleveland Browns, both in need of a quarterback, will select early, likely ending Shedeur’s hopes of landing in a major market.
While Deion has previously expressed interest in guiding his son to a preferred NFL destination, it remains uncertain where Shedeur will land. What happens next could bring some significant drama to the NFL Draft.
