Galaxy Secure Zanka in Deal with Anderlecht.

Jorgensen, known by his nickname “Zanka,” moved to Anderlecht from Premier League side Brentford in August. The 34-year-old center-back has previously played for Turkish club Fenerbahce, English team Huddersfield Town, and Copenhagen.

“We’re excited to welcome Zanka to the LA Galaxy,” said Will Kuntz, LA Galaxy General Manager. “Zanka is a five-time Danish League and Danish Cup champion, has Premier League experience, and has represented Denmark in over 30 international matches, including at the 2018 World Cup.”

“His quality and experience will be a valuable addition to our squad as we prepare for several competitions in the upcoming season,” Kuntz added.

Jorgensen has not been signed as a ‘Designated Player,’ and his contract will fall under the league’s salary cap rules, with him occupying an ‘international roster slot.’

The Galaxy secured victory over the New York Red Bulls in the MLS Cup final this past December.
