Michael Beasley’s return to Kansas State turned sour after an arrest early Sunday morning. The former Kansas State basketball star, who had been celebrating the Wildcats’ victory over the Kansas Jayhawks the day before, was taken into custody at 5:12 a.m. at Manhattan Regional Airport. According to the Riley County Police Department’s daily arrest log, Beasley was arrested for marijuana possession. Despite the arrest, he was released shortly after posting a $750 bond.

Beasley had spent the previous day in Manhattan to watch the Kansas State Wildcats play their long-time rivals, the Kansas Jayhawks, at Bramlage Coliseum. It was his first time attending a game there as a fan. He sat in a front-row seat to witness the Wildcats’ exciting 81-73 win over the Jayhawks in front of a packed crowd. It was a high point for Beasley, who had a celebrated career at Kansas State before moving on to play in the NBA. Unfortunately, his visit to the city ended on a much different note.
