The Miami Heat’s All-Star duo of Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro is increasingly becoming a story of contrasting seasons. It’s been rare to see both players step up and lead together in the same game.
Herro earned his first All-Star selection just two weeks ago after an impressive first half of the season. However, since securing his spot, his shooting has noticeably struggled. His once high efficiency has dipped, especially with his 3-point shooting. In the five games since his All-Star nod, Herro has only played well in one of them.

Herro’s stats since being named an All-Star:
18.6 ppg | 36.9% fg | 23.9% 3p | 48.9% ts
His efficiency has definitely dropped.
Herro, who was considered the Heat’s best player all season, has hit his first real slump of the 2024-25 campaign, and the pressure is on to get back on track. The Heat are currently on a three-game losing streak, dropping four of their last five. They’ve fallen to the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference play-in tournament. In their 115-101 loss to the OKC Thunder on Wednesday, they blew a 16-point second-half lead, with OKC outscoring them 32-8 in the fourth quarter.
Despite this, one player has been on the rise: Bam Adebayo. Over the last 10 games, Adebayo has averaged 21.3 points, 11.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.2 blocks on 52% shooting. Adebayo, who struggled with offensive consistency in the first half of the season, has stepped up his game. After some inconsistency earlier in the campaign, he is now leading the Heat both on and off the court as a second-year captain.
In the loss to the Thunder, Adebayo had 27 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assists, marking his 29th double-double of the season. He’s now one game away from tying the franchise’s all-time double-double record.
Even with Adebayo’s stellar performance, the rest of the team failed to provide enough support. Herro, along with starters Andrew Wiggins and Kel’el Ware, did not contribute enough to secure the win. Wiggins, in his first two games with Miami, has struggled with just 7 of 24 shooting. Ware, the once-promising rookie, has shown signs of hitting the rookie wall, averaging only 8.7 points over his last nine games.
Despite Adebayo’s dominant efforts, the Heat’s losses continue to stack up, and the rest of the team needs to step up to help turn things around.
