Oregon Ducks Emerge as Front-Runners for Four-Star WR Jalen Lott

The Oregon Ducks are in prime position to land four-star wide receiver Jalen Lott, one of the most dynamic playmakers in the 2026 recruiting class. Following a recent visit to Eugene, Lott expressed strong interest in joining Dan Lanning’s program, signaling that Oregon may have the edge in his recruitment.
Lott Leaning Toward Oregon
Lott, a standout athlete from Panther Creek High School in Frisco, Texas, is a highly sought-after prospect. His recent visit to Oregon only solidified his feelings about the program.
“I’m definitely leaning towards them more than most schools right now,” Lott told On3. “Being able to feel wanted by the whole coaching staff is important to me, and them showing me interest makes me want to commit and become a Duck.”
Lott’s connection with the coaching staff, particularly newly hired wide receivers coach Ross Douglas, has played a significant role in his interest in Oregon.
“He (Douglas) brings a lot of energy to the table,” Lott said. “I really like the coaching staff over there. Obviously, Coach Lanning and Coach Ross—the new receivers coach—me and him have a good relationship.”
The emphasis on building relationships and fostering a strong team culture has resonated with Lott.
“Building relationships like that is important to me,” Lott added. “Their energy and the way they go about their business—I think they add a little fun to it. I feel like it’s definitely a brotherhood up there.”
Lott’s Profile and Other Suitors
Standing at 6-foot, 170 pounds, Lott is an explosive athlete who excels both on the football field and in track and field. He is ranked as the No. 4 athlete in the 2026 class by 247Sports, showcasing his versatility and potential at the next level.
Although Oregon appears to be in the driver’s seat, Lott is still considering several other powerhouse programs, including LSU, Georgia, Miami, and Ohio State.
“I’m really hot on LSU, Oregon, Georgia, Miami, and Ohio State,” Lott said.
He has official visits lined up with Oregon, Texas, and USC this summer, meaning the Ducks will have to continue making a strong impression to seal the deal.
Oregon’s Strong 2026 Recruiting Class
Dan Lanning and his staff have already assembled one of the top recruiting classes for 2026. With nine commitments, Oregon currently holds the No. 3 ranked class according to 247Sports, trailing only USC and Clemson.
The class is headlined by several four-star prospects, including offensive tackle Kodi Greene, athlete Kendre Harrison, running back Tradarian Ball, defensive linemen Tomuhini Topui and Tony Cumberland, and linebacker Tristan Phillips.
Adding Lott to this group would further cement Oregon’s status as a premier destination for elite talent.
Will the Ducks Close the Deal?
Oregon has built strong momentum with Lott, and all signs point toward the Ducks being his likely landing spot. However, with several official visits still on the horizon, the competition remains fierce.
As the recruiting process unfolds, one thing is clear: Oregon is making a compelling case to bring another star talent to Eugene. Now, it’s just a matter of whether Lott decides to join the Ducks’ growing brotherhood.
