- Kejiaun Johnson officially visited the South Carolina Gamecocks over the weekend.
A product of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Alabama, Johnson currently receives a three-star rating from multiple recruiting sites and has received offers from Arkansas, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and several other programs.
Johnson commenced his official visit schedule with a trip to Columbus, where he had the opportunity to engage in a one-on-one conversation with the Gamecocks’ defensive backs coach, Torrian Gray. This encounter was a highlight of Johnson’s visit.
“The primary takeaway was the opportunity to have a one-on-one discussion with Coach Gray, discussing football,” Johnson shared with Touchdown Alabama. “I believe that gaining insights and knowledge is always beneficial.”
South Carolina is widely regarded as a program experiencing positive growth under the leadership of Shane Beamer. The Gamecocks’ coaching staff informed Johnson that his development would be a priority should he decide to bring his talents to Columbus.
“Their message was that playing for South Carolina would be a priority, and I would be developed and become a great defensive back, which could lead me to the NFL,” Gray stated.
A rising senior at 6-foot-2, Johnson possesses exceptional length that he utilizes effectively in coverage. He also demonstrates proficiency against the run and possesses the potential to transition to cornerback or safety at the next level.
