Michigan put together an impressive recruiting class during the 2024 cycle, particularly excelling in positions like running back under Jim Harbaugh’s leadership.
In the latest recruitment phase, the Wolverines secured the signings of two promising talents: four-star running back Jordan Marshall from Archbishop Moeller High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, and three-star running back Micah Kaa’pana from Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mike Hart, the running backs coach, played a pivotal role in recruiting both players, significantly influencing their decisions to commit to and ultimately sign with Michigan.
Despite this successful recruitment effort, there have been changes in the coaching staff during this off-season, leading to the departure of Mike Hart from the Wolverines’ coaching team after three seasons.
Nevertheless, the team acted swiftly to fill the vacancy by appointing Tony Alford, who previously served as the running backs coach at Ohio State, to the same position.
Jordan Marshall, a former highly sought-after prospect and incoming freshman, expressed his enthusiasm for the new hire. Marshall, who had been heavily pursued by Alford during his time at Ohio State, shared his excitement about the opportunity to be coached by him at Michigan.

Although we were disappointed when I didn’t choose Ohio State, I believe everything happens for a reason. I’m grateful to Coach Moore for bringing in the best talent for the job.
