Robinson: There’s No One Better to Assist Us in Moving Ahead.

After experiencing the highs of Las Vegas and the lows of the Spencer Leniu racism scandal, Roosters coach Trent Robinson is optimistic that the return of Jared Waerea-Hargreaves, a spiritual leader, can unite the team as they prepare to face the Sea Eagles on Sunday. Waerea-Hargreaves, who has been sidelined since receiving two suspensions last year, will play his 299th career game, stepping into Leniu’s position following an eight-game ban for contrary conduct.

Robinson expressed the importance of having players like Waerea-Hargreaves, who have faced various challenges, return to the team and provide leadership. Despite a difficult week, Robinson believes Waerea-Hargreaves is the perfect man for the Roosters to rally behind.

Following Leniu’s judiciary hearing, Roosters CEO Joe Kelly stated that Leniu was “incredibly remorseful” and that the club would continue to support him and enhance his understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.

Robinson highlighted that the club has had discussions about the use of language and its impact on players and opponents. He emphasized the need for a change in the way people communicate, both within the club and in society.

Robinson hopes that this incident will be a turning point for language use, urging everyone to reflect on how they speak to each other and work towards positive change. He emphasized the need for education and direction in order to improve language use and create a more inclusive environment.
