These injuries have led to adjustments in the team’s 26-man roster for Opening Day.
Catchers (2): Christian Vázquez, Ryan Jeffers
The Twins typically employ a balanced two-catcher system to keep both players healthier throughout the demanding season. Vázquez, entering his age-32 season, will share duties with Jeffers, who showed strong offensive performance last year. Jair Camargo serves as the third catcher option on the 40-man roster.
Infielders (6): Carlos Correa, Kyle Farmer, Alex Kirilloff, Royce Lewis, Edouard Julien, Carlos Santana
The infield unit has faced injury challenges in the past, but is relatively healthy leading into the season.
Correa played through plantar fasciitis last year, impacting his performance. Farmer dealt with a serious injury early in the season, while Kirilloff and Lewis have recovered from past injuries.
Santana, a new addition, is expected to primarily play first base, with Kirilloff seeing more time as a designated hitter. Depth at Triple-A includes prospects Brooks Lee and Austin Martin, who can fill various infield roles when needed.
