NFL personnel have arrived at Michigan football, with one observer noting it’s the largest number of scouts they’ve seen at a pro day.

Michigan football is poised to potentially set an NFL draft record for selections this April, drawing significant attention from NFL teams. After an impressive showing at the NFL combine, where they had 18 invitees and the most offensive linemen from one school, the Wolverines are once again in the spotlight as they host their pro day.

ESPN’s Matt Miller, a seasoned NFL draft analyst, reported that over 150 NFL personnel are expected to attend the pro day in Ann Arbor, including seven head coaches and nine general managers. Miller noted that this is the largest number he’s ever heard of for a pro day, a testament to the talent Michigan football has to offer.

“That’s the biggest number I’ve ever heard for a pro day,” Miller wrote on X. With all of Michigan football’s talent, it’s not a surprise.

J.J. McCarthy is the standout player drawing the most attention. Several NFL teams view him as a potential top-10 pick and the future face of their franchise. Having watched McCarthy at Michigan, I can say there’s no better person to lead a franchise. He’s not just incredibly talented but also humble, hard-working, and a great teammate. He’s among the best quarterbacks in the draft, which is why Jim Harbaugh believes he should be the No. 1 pick.

Additionally, players like Mike Sainristil, Blake Corum, Kris Jenkins, the entire offensive line, Jaylen Harrell, Braiden McGregor, Junior Colson, Michael Barrett, Roman Wilson, Cornelius Johnson, and A.J. Barner are all prospects who could be drafted or at least signed as rookie free agents. They all have the opportunity to impress on Friday.

The focus will be on McCarthy, and it will be interesting to see if he participates in the 40-yard dash, which he skipped at the NFL combine. His performance could further enhance his draft stock. However, this day is also about showcasing Michigan football as the premier development program in college football.

Michigan football has a remarkable track record of developing underrated recruits into standout players. This success is evident in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft, where the Wolverines could potentially have four first-round picks. This trend is likely to continue attracting significant attention to their Pro Day in future years.
