Breaking News: The Brisbane Broncos have established a fresh NRL record…

The Brisbane Broncos have made history by becoming the inaugural NRL club to reach 50,000 members in a single season.

In the previous three years, their membership figures stood at 47,300 in 2023, 36,800 in 2022, and 28,533 in 2021, before surpassing the 50,000 mark this season.

The club confirmed this remarkable achievement prior to the commencement of the season in Las Vegas. Presently, the club boasts 53,672 members and aims to exceed 60,000 members by the midway point of the season.

CEO Dave Donaghy expressed his delight earlier this week, stating, “This has been our target over the last couple of seasons, and it’s fantastic to reach this milestone before the start of the 2024 season.” He acknowledged the significant efforts behind the scenes that have made being a Broncos member a desirable and prestigious status.

Donaghy emphasized the deep connection between the club and its supporters, acknowledging the privilege the players have in holding such a special place in people’s hearts. He noted that while these numbers are impressive, they still fall short of those seen in the AFL, where club memberships often exceed 100,000.

However, Donaghy remains optimistic about the Broncos’ potential, expressing pride in the club’s leadership in this area. He declared the ongoing commitment to achieving the 60,000-member milestone by Origin time, if not sooner.
