Alabama’s recent defensive recruitment efforts have been outstanding, and they continued their streak by adding another linebacker to their roster on Sunday.

Luke Metz, a 6’3″ and 220-pound linebacker from Buford, Georgia, has committed to Alabama over offers from Ole Miss, LSU, and Michigan, according to Hayes Fawcett from On3.com.

Despite being rated as a three-star prospect and the 60th-best linebacker in the class of 2025, Metz’s addition adds depth and talent to Alabama’s defensive lineup.

Alabama’s 2025 class has seen significant additions in the linebacker department lately, with the inclusion of three standout players.

Among them are Darrell Johnson, a versatile athlete known for his prowess in both running back and linebacker positions, and Abduall Sanders Jr. Despite concerns following Nick Saban’s retirement two months ago, Kalen DeBoer has made his mark in recruiting since taking over.

There were doubts about DeBoer’s ability to recruit in the competitive SEC, but he has silenced many skeptics by securing commitments from highly sought-after prospects, including those pursued by powerhouse programs like LSU and Ole Miss. These successes bode well for the Crimson Tide’s future recruitment efforts.
