Breaking News: LAFC Secures Olivier Giroud on Free Transfer, Backed by Hugo Lloris for MLS Reunion
Milan’s Olivier Giroud has reportedly been presented with a formal offer to join LAFC on a free transfer, with his compatriot Hugo Lloris advocating for a reunion in the MLS.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, LAFC has extended a formal contract proposal to Giroud, who’s currently with Milan. With Giroud’s Milan contract expiring in June, he could potentially join the MLS side on a free transfer during the summer.
Romano suggests that LAFC is leading the race to secure the services of the 2018 France World Cup winner, despite Giroud receiving higher offers from other clubs. Lloris, who previously played for Tottenham, is reportedly keen on reuniting with Giroud in Los Angeles.
Various sources in Italy indicate that Giroud is tempted to make the move to the MLS once his contract with Milan concludes on June 30, 2024. Since joining Milan from Chelsea in 2021, Giroud has scored 46 goals in 121 appearances for the Serie A giants.
