In recent news, the Winnipeg Jets have announced the reassignment of forward Colby Barlow to their AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose, marking the conclusion of his tenure in the OHL.
Barlow initially joined the Jets organization after being selected in the first round of the 2023 NHL Draft, chosen with the 18th overall pick. Prior to the commencement of the 2023-24 NHL season, Barlow inked a three-year, $3.6M entry-level contract with Winnipeg, likely set to commence in the upcoming season.
During his stint spanning three years in Owen Sound, Barlow appeared in a total of 168 games, amassing 116 goals and 184 points, with an additional contribution of nine goals and 12 points in 15 postseason appearances. Renowned for his adeptness at finding the back of the net from various positions within the offensive zone, Barlow showcased his scoring prowess consistently.
With just six games remaining in the Manitoba Moose’s regular season, the team requires between three to four victories to secure a spot in the 2024 Calder Cup playoffs. Given the Moose’s current contention for a postseason berth, Barlow will have the opportunity to participate in crucial matchups, concluding his season on a competitive note.
