“Top QB Prospect Poised for Commitment Decision as A-Day MVPs Await Announcement”
4-star quarterback Husan Longstreet traveled from Corona, California, to Auburn for the Tigers’ spring scrimmage over the weekend. This marked his second visit to Auburn’s campus and his final trip before making his commitment decision in a week’s time.
Ranked as the #5 quarterback in the 2025 recruiting class and the #2 player from California, Longstreet has set his commitment date for April 14. He is considering offers from Auburn football, Texas A&M, Michigan, Miami, Oregon, Louisville, and Ole Miss.
Longstreet prioritizes development in his decision-making process and has been particularly impressed with Auburn’s coaching staff so far. According to Auburn Rivals, he praised Coach Jesse Stone, Coach Kent Austin, and Coach Freeze for their track record in developing quarterbacks and assembling strong teams.
Auburn football has announced the MVPs from the A-Day game, which marked the end of spring practice. The offense narrowly defeated the defense with a final score of 28-27. Several true freshmen and transfers showcased their skills in front of Auburn football fans for the first time.
The MVPs were all newcomers, with one transfer and two freshmen earning recognition. Former Texas defensive back Jerrin Thompson was named the defensive MVP after recording a sack and three tackles during the scrimmage.
Freshman wide receiver Cam Coleman received the offensive MVP award for scoring the only touchdown of the game and accumulating 92 yards on four catches, including a 49-yard reception from Hank Brown.
The special teams MVP title went to true freshman kicker Towns McGough, who made an impressive seven field goals, contributing 21 points to the team’s total.
