BREAKING: The Auburn on the verge of a recruiting surprise could overshadow Penn State

It’s a rarity for a top high school football prospect from Alabama to choose a Big 10 school, but this year could be an exception. Ohio State has already secured a commitment from cornerback Na’eem Offord from Birmingham (Ala.) Parker, and there may be another surprise in store.

According to 247Sports’ Tom Loy, he predicts that Penn State will venture into Alabama and secure the commitment of the nation’s 94th-ranked player, running back Alvin Henderson from Elba (Ala.) High School.

Loy, an experienced figure in recruiting, explained his prediction by pointing to Henderson’s close relationship and respect for Penn State running backs coach Ja’Juan Seider, as well as his admiration for Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin.

Henderson has visited Auburn several times in the past year, including three of the last four Auburn practices attended by Loy.

Living less than two hours from Auburn’s campus, Henderson has strong ties to the school. However, he recently visited Penn State, indicating a potential interest in exploring different college options. Apart from Auburn, Henderson is also considering Florida State, Miami, and Oregon.
