T’Vondre Sweat involved in a fatal car accident.

T’Vondre Sweat narrowly avoided serious injury over the weekend when his Ford Bronco overturned in a car accident, resulting in his arrest for driving under the influence. The incident, which occurred in Texas, involved a collision with a blue Dodge sports car, causing Sweat’s vehicle to lose control and flip onto its side.

According to recent reports from TMZ, a police report indicated that Sweat’s car emitted an odor of burnt marijuana, and he appeared to have glassy eyes at the scene. Despite the mishap, Sweat, a prominent NFL Draft prospect at 22 years old and former standout defensive lineman for the Texas Longhorns, remains poised as a potential second-round selection in the upcoming draft.

Sweat, recognized as the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and recipient of the Outland Trophy, was able to secure release on a $3,000 bond, ensuring the continuity of his pre-draft preparations. In light of the incident, he has embarked on visits to NFL teams, including the Tennessee Titans earlier this week and scheduled travel to Seattle later this week, as reported by Tom Pelissero. These visits afford Sweat the opportunity to address the circumstances surrounding the accident directly with the franchises as part of his pre-draft process.
