His debut season with the New York Jets was cut short after just four snaps. In a recent interview on the “I Can Fly” podcast, Rodgers candidly reflected on the emotional turmoil he faced after tearing his Achilles. He acknowledged grappling with thoughts that this injury could be career-ending.

Recalling the poignant moment of carrying the American flag onto the MetLife Stadium field as “one of the highest highs” in his sporting career, Rodgers juxtaposed it with the sudden plunge into doubt about his future in football.

He described the experience as a profound shift, from feeling a renewed passion for the game to confronting the possibility of never playing again after just a few minutes on the field.

Expressing vulnerability, Rodgers shared that he leaned on close friends for support during the darkest moments, acknowledging his struggle to maintain belief in his recovery. However, as he committed himself to the rehabilitation process post-surgery, his outlook gradually shifted towards optimism.

With his recovery progressing well, Rodgers now sets ambitious career goals for himself. Despite turning 40, he appears undaunted by concerns of lingering effects from the Achilles injury, expressing confidence that he’ll be fully prepared when the 2024 season commences.
