In his conversation, Robinson recounted a clause in his contract that promised him a bonus of around $2 million if he played a certain number of games. However, Rivers sidelined him with a “Did Not Play” (DNP) designation in a crucial game, preventing him from meeting the required threshold for the bonus.
Robinson’s grievance stemmed from his time with the Boston Celtics after being traded from the New York Knicks in 2010. Despite playing in the final four games of the regular season, Robinson missed out on the incentive due to strategic benching by Rivers.
