Breaking News:The Red Sox have put top Infielders on the injured list due to…

The Boston Red Sox placed first baseman Triston Casas on the 10-day injured list due to a left rib strain, following his exit from Saturday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates after feeling discomfort in his rib area during his first at-bat. In a corresponding move, the Red Sox recalled catcher Tyler Heineman from Triple-A Worcester.

Casas, 24, has recorded six home runs and 10 RBIs in 22 games this season. Third baseman Bobby Dalbec replaced him at first base during Saturday’s game, with Pablo Reyes taking over for Dalbec at third base.

Boston is currently managing several injuries to key players, with third baseman Rafael Devers (knee) and outfielder Tyler O’Neill (concussion) missing the win over the Pirates but potentially returning for Tuesday’s game against the Cleveland Guardians, according to manager Alex Cora.
