Walters gives an update on Cobbo and Mam’s injuries.

Brisbane Broncos head coach Kevin Walters has delivered an injury update on two key players, Ezra Mam and Selwyn Cobbo, ahead of their upcoming clash with the Wests Tigers.

In a statement released by the club, Walters confirmed that star five-eighth Ezra Mam and centre Selwyn Cobbo would both be sidelined for just one week. This news comes as a relief for Broncos fans who were left wondering about the extent of the players’ injuries after they were unexpectedly omitted from the team lineup.

Both Mam and Cobbo sustained knocks during the Broncos’ recent victory over the Canberra Raiders. While their absence may have initially raised concerns, Walters provided reassurance that the injuries are not severe and that the players are expected to return to action soon.

“Ezra and Selwyn have had scans which showed injuries that will benefit from missing this week’s game. We expect both of them to be back next week,” stated Walters.

The absence of Mam will see Jock Madden stepping into the number six jersey for the upcoming match against the Tigers. Madden, who would have otherwise lost his place in the team with the return of veteran halfback Adam Reynolds, now has an opportunity to showcase his talent in the pivotal role.

Additionally, Brendan Piakura’s return to the squad comes at the expense of Jaiyden Hunt, while Tristan Sailor finds himself out of the 17, with Corey Oates set to join Deine Mariner on the wing. The Broncos will face the Wests Tigers at Campbelltown Sports Stadium on Saturday, and Walters remains optimistic about his team’s prospects despite the absence of Mam and Cobbo. The coach is confident that the squad has the depth and talent to overcome these setbacks and secure a positive result.

With Mam and Cobbo expected to make a swift return to action, Broncos supporters can look forward to seeing their dynamic duo back on the field in the near future. In the meantime, the team will focus on delivering a strong performance against the Tigers as they aim to maintain their momentum in the NRL competition.
