LATEST: With Arsenal ties, Real Madrid isn’t ruling out moving Miguel Gutierrez.

Arsenal’s target, 22-year-old left-back Miguel Gutierrez of Girona, may be available for re-signing by Real Madrid next summer.
Real Madrid is reportedly interested in Miguel Gutierrez, according to Spanish writer Rodra P. The 22-year-old’s re-signing is not out of the question for the Merengues, while Alphonso Davies is still their primary aim. Premier League powerhouse Arsenal is also interested in the Girona left-back.

After moving from Real Madrid to Girona last year, Miguel Gutierrez has established a solid foundation for his career. The Spaniard graduated from Real Madrid’s legendary La Fabrica setup and spent more than ten years there. However, he was unable to make a name for himself at the Santiago Bernabeu and departed to make frequent appearances abroad.

The young player has benefited greatly from his move to Girona, as he has been able to gain consistent playing time at Estadi Montilivi. With one goal and three assists in 17 appearances, the 22-year-old has contributed to the White and Reds’ ascent to the top of La Liga. Gutierrez’s advancement has not gone unnoticed in the interim.

The Spanish left-back has drawn interest from a number of prestigious teams in Europe, including Arsenal. The Girona full-back is also a target for Manchester City, the league winners. However, Real Madrid, Gutierrez’s previous team, might potentially go all out to sign him again the following season.

During the summer transfer window of 2024, Real Madrid will look to acquire a left-back. Fran Garcia is not expected to be the starting left-back at the Bernabeu, and Ferland Mendy’s future with the team is in doubt. Thus, Miguel Gutierrez could be a good choice to take Mendy’s place. Alphonso Davies, nevertheless, is Los Blancos’ top target for the role and is eager to move.

For Arsenal, Oleksandr Zinchenko has been Mikel Arteta’s go-to left-back most of the time. The other candidates for the role are Takehiro Tomiyasu and the injured Jurrien Timber. However, the manager of Arsenal is looking for a guy who can bring Gutierrez into the mix and give his team a different dynamic in the game.

The team in a better position to hire Gutierrez next year might be Arsenal. However, if the 22-year-old departs Girona, it is said that he has hopes of returning to Real Madrid. Gutierrez will be Los Blancos’ backup choice, though, since they are prioritizing a move for Alphonso Davies.
