Here’s Voss’s take on the upcoming Cats clash and the anticipated brother battle.

Carlton AFL Senior Coach Michael Voss has emphasized the need for his team to maintain their focus as they face yet another undefeated opponent. With the upcoming clash against Geelong at the MCG presenting another significant challenge, Voss expressed his thoughts on the matter.

Regarding his confidence in Jacob Weitering and Zac Williams’ availability, Voss stated, “I am, yeah. They’ve had a pretty reasonable week. They both did a little bit yesterday, they’ve done enough of what was needed. We had a look at them this morning, they’re ready to go.

Highlighting Weitering’s significance to the team, Voss emphasized, “He’s a very good player for us, he’s our vice-captain, he brings something a bit different to the table. We’re a better team with him out there, he’ll play an important role.”

When comparing the current scenario to the previous encounter with Geelong, Voss acknowledged the Cats’ improved cohesion and consistency this season, emphasizing their undefeated status as a testament to their stability and understanding of their game plan.

Regarding discussions surrounding potential rule changes such as extra time and the interchange cap/sub rule, Voss maintained a balanced perspective, acknowledging the arguments for and against while leaning towards maintaining the status quo.

Reflecting on the team’s strategy of utilizing two ruckmen, Voss praised the effectiveness of the approach but remained open to adapting based on future performances and team dynamics.

In anticipation of the clash between brothers Tom and Sam De Koning, Voss shared his experiences from his own battles against his brother, highlighting the emotional aspect of such matchups and expressing hope for Tom’s success.

Ultimately, Voss emphasized the importance of maintaining focus and unity within the team as they prepare for the upcoming challenge against Geelong.
