Missouri Lands All-AAC Offensive Lineman :Tigers Bolster O-Line with Transfer from SMU.
Earlier today, the Tigers made an addition to their roster for the upcoming 2024 season. According to On3, Marcus Bryant, a former offensive tackle from SMU, has committed to playing for the Tigers. Bryant hails from Round Rock, Texas.
During the previous season, Bryant appeared in 13 games for the Mustangs, starting in 10 of them. Standing at an impressive 6 feet 8 inches and weighing 318 pounds, Bryant primarily played at the left tackle position.
Despite being a low-ranked 3-star recruit in the class of 2020, Bryant’s talent has not gone unnoticed. Initially, he only received offers from SMU and Incarnate Word, with some interest from Arizona State. However, upon entering the transfer portal, Bryant quickly became a highly sought-after prospect, receiving offers from TCU, Texas A&M, Mississippi State, Washington, and others. Since April 15, 247Sports had predicted that he would commit to Washington.
With Bryant’s commitment, the Tigers have significantly strengthened their offensive line. They previously brought in Cayden Green, a former 4-star recruit, to play right tackle earlier in the offseason. Additionally, they have added a number of talented freshmen, such as 3-star tackle Ryan Jostes and 3-star JUCO product Jayven Richardson, in the last recruiting class.
Head coach Eli Drinkwitz has been actively pursuing transfers in the spring portal cycle. The Tigers have shown interest in Damonic Williams, a former defensive tackle from TCU, who is currently a highly sought-after prospect in the portal.
